Describe the type of door (armoured or standard) and how it’s locked: a serious professional will give you a price range over the phone and confirm it before starting. Be wary of anyone who won’t commit or who promises ridiculous figures ("from €29") that then multiply on the spot.

- Don’t accept a call-out without an indicative price agreed beforehand — it’s the most documented scam in the trade
- Don’t let them drill the cylinder as a first option: non-destructive opening should be tried first
